On May 7, He Xuming, Chairman of the World Internet of Things Convention (WIOTC) visited the Delegation of the European Union to China and was warmly received by Ambassador. The two sides had sincere and friendly exchanges on issues such as the IoT world and the global development of the IoT. Officials from the Communications office and secretariat of the Delegation of the EU to China, the Chairman's office of the WIOTC and the head of the international department attended the meeting.
Ambassador Nicolas Chapuis said, "I am very pleased to pay attention to and see the discussions, research and conference organization done by the WIOTC for the IoT world". He also pointed out that "The IoT belongs to the world, the development of the IoT cannot be built behind closed doors; it should be multilateral, complex, and worldwide. There is a need to integrate existing IoT research in China and that around the world. In particular, the development of 5G has technological, political and security obstacles, which calls for international and multilateral cooperation to promote steadily." Both sides agree that only strengthening international multilateral mechanisms and intergovernmental exchanges and cooperation can form the world IoT.
Chairman He Xuming expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for his concern and the awareness of the World IoT, and thanked President Juncker and his office for their friendly exchanges! Chairman He Xuming also presented Ambassador with the world-leading and cutting-edge "World Internet of Things White Paper".
